Special Announcement:

API Progress

The goal of RCP is to provide Richmond K-5 students with a college quality academic foundation.

To reach this goal the RCP mission is focused on “. . . academic services resulting in grade appropriate achievement. ..
” It truly takes the combined efforts of our students, teachers, and parents for us to reach our academic goals.

Our program includes celebrating and rewarding academic success. Last year we successfully piloted our Certification program
which requires each student to demonstrate grade appropriate achievement in Math and Language Arts.
Approximately 70% of our students earned certification.

In August, 2011, we received our STAR scores.
Our scores improved substantially. Our reading scores were 11% lower than the California average, but our math scores were
12% higher.

We rose from a 696 API to an API of 755, a 59 point increase.
Our API goal for 2012 is 800+!
